But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

Bow-nanza

Over the weekend I got inspiration from my new blogger friend Shannon to try my hand at making barrettes for Sarah's headbands (rather than spend $12 a pop at Latte Tots for them). Shannon makes the most beautiful headbands for her baby Brooklyn! So I went where else but to Hobby Lobby to get my supplies. Before I knew it I'd made 11 barrettes!

First thing's first. For those who aren't up to speed on all of the infant fashion trends this year, here's your baby headband tutorial:

I have several crochet headbands like this one. Through the ribbon loop (or through the crochet holes if there is no ribbon) you just slide the barrette so it attaches to the headband, thus making your headband/barrette combinations practically endless. :)

This is the back of one of the barrettes I made so you can get the idea.

And here are the barrettes. This one on the top with the S monogram is huge. She will have to be at least 8 months old with a bigger head before she'll be able to wear it. :)

Two made with pink and white tulle and one with a pink and brown polka-dot ribbon, complete with big rhinestones.

For these three I used some round fabric accents I found and put a turquoise bead in the center.

Three little roses with some pearl accents, and a blue carnation with feathers. The feathers were truly Shannon inspired. :)

The little cutie this morning wearing the tulle bow. Jason said "That one has a little too much flair for me." I like flair. Actually, that's my favorite part. :)

The weather has been great lately, so we've been able to play outside again! Yay! I was starting to get cabin fever! Between super cold weather and sick kids we haven't been outside much this winter, so this was a welcomed change!

Pure, simple happiness.

Don't you just love the bed head??

I loved making barette's for Katie when she was little. She must have had one for every outfit.

I love your flair! Can't wait to see what Miss Sarah will be wearing at church this morning.

Cute bows! I especially love the little fabric yo-yo's with the bead! Very cute!

Since it's my first time commenting, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Jordyn and I am a new mommy - I am also new to the blogging world. Loving it so far! :)
