A lot of our time lately has been spent getting ready for little Sarah. On August 7th my friends Kelly and Nicole threw me a baby shower with all of my girlfriends. Here she is getting the scones ready the night before. They are due Dec 18th with their little Aiden Daniel. If you look closely you can see her tiny baby bump here. (And the wine bottle on her right was mine, not hers.) :)

The party had a tea party theme, which was a-dorable!! We all drank out drinks out of my china teacups. So cute!

Nicole made me a diaper cake.

Rachel and I sharing a laugh as we opened presents. The ladies all brought Rachel a pampering present to make pregnancy a little more comfortable for her.

Nathan's mom made the cake, which was inspired by Sarah's bedding. Isn't it absolutely fabulous?!

Sarah's room has been a labor of love for me. I never considered myself creative at all, so I never tried to do anything artistic. The most I did for Jack's room on my own was spray paint a few picture frames and use acrylic paint for the J-A-C-K on his door. But in Sarah's room I decided to try my hand at a few things.
Here is the tutu I made for her. I plan to put it on her for some newborn pictures. Pink ribbon with white polka dots and white and pink shiny tulle.

Our friends Steve and Valerie Barr came over with their kids in mid September to help is with the chair rail. It went up without a hitch and looks great! Here are the guys doing some man work on the driveway.

It's hard to tell in these pictures, but her room is a light green on the top of the chair rail and a bold pink on the bottom. In this corner with the glider I hung a pink mirror with the tutu on an "S" hook above it.

Next to the window is the doll house my dad made for me when I was a kid.

The crib-complete with airplane sheet. We don't have her bedding yet. :)

The changing table wall.

Her window. I added a beaded trim to the bottom of the curtains, and a matching trim on the lamp on the changing table.

My little artists made these paintings for Sarah's room. Jack painted the one on the left and Makenzie and Maddie the one on the right.

Here I used stencils to paint her name on a canvas.

This is a closer shot of the paintings hanging over her crib. A chandelier with rhinestones, the word "Joy" and a cross.

I painted all of the light switch/outlet covers.

This is a close-up of her lamp. I painted large dots on a plain white shade and added the trim. I found the base at Target....isn't it so cool?

At each appointment Rachel has been measuring a little ahead of schedule. She is feeling much better, just a little fatigued as Sarah gets bigger (and her girls get busier). I can hardly wait to have my little girl at home. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be able to put her down for at least a week.
