I am sitting down for the first time today (not counting when I was driving all over town earlier this morning). We're doing a ladies Bible study this semester called Contagious Joy, and I've decided that if I'm going to capture the kind of joy we all want, I must force myself to relax for at least a few minutes a day. So right now my toddler is sleeping, my painting is on hold, and I am visiting with you all while relaxing with a glass of Merlot.
Can you beleive we are 31 weeks already! Oh my time is flying by! Rachel startes her bi-weekly appointments this month. She had one last Thursday and will have another on the 30th. She checked out great! She passed her extended glucose test (Yay! Thanks for your prayers!) and at the last two appointments has measured a week ahead of schedule. So little Sarah is in there growing like crazy. She has been doing a number on Rachel's poor ribs...kicking them constantly! Dr. Schroeder said to expect Sarah to arrive anywhere between 5 and 9 weeks from now. YAY!
Rachel is looking oh so cute lately! I'll have to post a picture soon of what she looks like. She's all baby and gets compliments on how cute of a pregger she is pretty much everywhere she goes. I still haven't gotten used to people's inquiries though. We'll be somewhere together and someone will say "Oh, so you're going to have three little girls soon!" and she'll say "No, this is her baby" and point to me. Then people gush over what a wonderful thing it is. And yes, it is a wonderful thing!
Jack is getting super excited about having a sister. Right now I'm trying to relactate, which is when you try to induce lactation in yourself to nurse a baby you didn't carry. Jack will sit next to me on the couch while I'm pumping and be like: "Mommy, whatcha doin?" I'll say "You know what I'm doing Jack." Jack: "Yeah. You're trying to make milk for Sarah from your boobies." Me: "That's right Jack." Jack: "Because she doesn't have any teeth." We have this exchange every time I pump, which is about every two to three hours. So funny! Also, I've found my cretive side lately and have been doing a lot of the work in Sarah's room myself: making paintings and other decorations, making her a tutu, and putting a beaded trim on her curtains. Jack has loved helping with the crafts. He especially loves to use the hot gule gun and the scissors (yikes!).
Well, I'm afraid my break might be over. Tonight is Parent's Night at Jack's preschool. Rachel is watching Jack for us (no kids allowed at Parent's Night), so I'm going to make dinner and take it over to her so she doesn't have to worry about cooking for all three kids. Ta ta!
