Sarah has fit into our lives so nicely and easily! People ask me a lot if it's been stressful to add another kid to the mix, and for the most part the answer is no. Jack has adapted really well to having a sibling, and she is just the sweetest little baby! I'm still able to keep up with our busy schedule most of the time. And when I say busy, I mean busy. Jack is in preschool three days a week, and it takes about 20 minutes to get him to the church where his school is (so we're in the car a lot). Jason plays drums and I sing for the church praise team, and I also do a Bible Study on Wednesday mornings with some other women at the church. So we are at the church three days a week too. Sarah doesn't have to be at home to be content, so we can still do our playdates with Jack's friends and I don't have any problems running errands with her while Jack is at school. And taking the two of them to run errands is easier than it was when I took only Jack three months ago before Sarah was born. Having a little sister has made him grow up so much! He's such a good little helper now.
The one thing that hasn't gone so smoothly is keeping up with my housework. Particularly laundry. On any given day it looks like a Macy's and an Academy threw up all over my house. Since Jason works out so much (at least once a day, and a few days a week he works out twice a day) and I'm still washing Sarah's clothes separately, there is just SO much laundry! So I decided that next week I'm going to start myself back on the chore-a-day schedule I had right after Jack was born to keep up. Maybe that will help me be less stressed about cleaning. Wish me luck!
Now, let's catch up!
We started what I hope will become a new tradition. After Christmas, rather than putting our Christmas trees on the curb for the garbage pickup, we had some friends over and took the trees in the backyard and burned them in our fire pit. SO much fun! Here's Andrew chopping his up with our hedge trimmer.
On New Year's Day we got to meet Baby Aiden! We have been friends with the Hunts since college, and they had their first little baby 15 days after Sarah was born, on December 1st. Here the babies are swinging away!
Jack helping Mom make a cake.
About a week ago we got Jack a new bike because he grew out of his first one. We took his fishing pole on our bide ride last weekend and fished off the bridge by the house.
New favorite passtime. Staring at her cute little face in the mirror. Andrew Hunt made prediction that she will probably be doing this for the rest of her life. :)
LOVE these ones! Last night Jack and Sarah took a bath together for the first time. Here he's pouring water on her to keep her warm. Sweet brother!
Big Boy Bed!! Yesterday night Jack's new bed was delivered! We got a loft style bunk bed and rather than putting the second twin bed under the loft, we put some of his toys under there instead.
It has a desk built in to one side.
